I believe that change happens when individuals and groups center themselves at the intersection of curiosity, dialogue, reflection, empathy, and action. That point of intersection is relevance. In order to see ourselves and others clearly, each of us must become more self- aware, more nuanced in thinking about truth and memory, and more open to meeting people where they are. I place a strong emphasis on action and accountability. It is through these values that I approach collaboration:
Curiosity
Curiosity is an essential ingredient in the process of learning. It activates your mind, opening up new ideas and possibilities. I aim to provide strategies and methods that inspire curiosity.
Dialogue
Dialogue is the sharing of ideas, experiences, and assumptions as aspects of individual and shared learning; it is inherently inclusive. My work will always strive to reflect this as both an individual and a shared practice.
Empathy
Empathy is the skill or ability to tap into one’s own experiences in order to connect with an experience someone else is relating. I value projects that allow for multiple perspectives and that acknowledge the complex narratives that have shaped and continue to shape world views.
Reflection
Reflection incorporates serious contemplation; it involves thinking about mental processes, especially in terms of intention and impact. In every transformational experience, I commit to including space to reflect.
Relevance
Relevance is recognizing the importance and/ or usefulness of one idea in connection to another. I am committed to supporting individuals as they more consciously make connections between: the past, present and future; their experiences and others’; and, the ways in which people learn and grow.
ACTION
Action is the activity related to individual or collective movement. I believe that action starts with meeting people where they are and continues by supporting the unique steps taken on individual/ shared journeys.
